Something to remember
The hours are passing by and one idea is becoming stronger and stronger in my mind. Yesterday will be a day to remember for Madonna’s fans.
I admit I had some mixed feelings and a sort of forewarning in the days before. I can’t really explain, I felt I had to be there. Weird again, because I live thousand km from London now, but at the same time keep spending a big part of my holidays there, feeling at home even if I’m not brit.
I knew that I had no practical chance to get there, but at the same time – technically speaking – it was not impossibile to arrange an instant trip and come up – it was just insane maybe, but probably worthy.
Now it’s over, after I spent the afternoon browsing the net and finding the latest, and getting news by phone and by txt. What I got was almost the same feedback: Oh my God, I never met Madonna like this before.
I think it’s not only a matter of the unusually long time span the fans had the chance to talk to her for, or the hand shooting, or things like that. She did that before. Right, when she signed her American Life album in NYC she left some of her queing fans disappointed – and she knew how to start an x-static process to apologise.
But from all the stories I’ve heard today, it really looks that Madonna has changed, and she did it for the best. Beautiful as ever, with two sparkling eyes that you can never forget, but also relaxed, friendly and – most of all – really enjoying what she was doing – and no, I’m not talking about promoting her book.
I’m convinced that we’ll remember November 11 for quite a long time. For sure all the lucky 250 folks there will – you know you deserve it guys. But seeing Madonna recognizing some familiar faces – even some she wasn’t too happy to see around in the past – and even calling some of them by name, and enjoying that all, well how in this world wouldn’t this leave you shocked as well?
Thank you Madonna, for another Re-invention. Talk to you again soon.
