The Girle Show protests in Germany
Our friend Ingo from the German fanclub Spotlight sent us this interesting clipping of a local paper talking about the activities of his fanclub.
The article is about the fanclub protest for a cancelled gig of the Girlie Show in Frankfurt only 3 days before the show. They had a big protest with postcards from Madonna fans to the german record label. They sent out more than 12.000 postcards.
The article also mentions politician Norbert Geis who said to the media, that Madonna’s show was obscene and unsuitable for young people. But that was not the real reason for the cancellation.
It all had to do with not having enough time to build the stage as Madonna was sticked between a David Copperfield show (the day before) and a Deep Purple concert (the day after).
Ingo still recalls that in the end there was no Girlie Show in Germany.
