Thierry, Re-Invented
Our friend Thierry from fellow fansite MadonnaPolis wants to share with the Tribe his Tour experience.
I travelled from Belgium to London and arrived around 11am. Getting off the Eurostar I could already hear certain people talking about Madonna. I sure wasn’t the only one who was travelling with only one purpose that day. 😉
I met up with a Madonnapolis forum member. First thing we had to do on arrival was to collect our tickets at Thistle Hotel. We got there and I ran into Darren Hayes (the guy from Savage Garden, remember?) Anyways… Let’s skip to the concert because you people don’t care about this right?
The concert was great, she started half an hour late though. Our places were very good (a bit high up maybe, but we did have a very good view). The section we were sitting was very lively aswell, except for the first two rows at the bottom that sat down most part of the show. Maybe because there was a big sign saying: “Do not stand up“. Some people actually take those things seriously.
I was sitting next to an over-excited 40-something woman equipped with binoculars and a camera. She was very sweet and she danced and sung all the way through the concert. I was glad to be in the company of someone as excited as I was.
There was a fan dressed in the Blond Ambition LAV outfit parading down the aisles and the crowd went mad. He seemed to be enjoying the attention and he really got the audience to clap and cheer. He made the paper the day after, I notice.
Then somebody had spotted Kylie Minogue in the audience so everyone went crazy for that.
So when the concert started we all jumped off our seats and started clapping and cheering our heads off. Madonna looked gorgeous and she was in a very good and playful mood.
The audience was great aswell and M had noticed that from the beginning of the show. We sang along to every song and whenever M would finish a song the audience went mad with cheers.
I loved the Beast within! OMG when those screens started flickering with the wolves and M in that freaky bed doing her mad moves I was like YAY Fuck what the hell is this?!!
I already was an admirer of Steven Klein, but this was perfection. His videos brought so much more to the performances, they were like painting coming to live.
During Material Girl she asked to help her out with the lyrics and it was great hearing Earls Court sing material girl.
During Don’t Tell me she did her “Don’t tell me to what mothafuckas!??-speech and Earls Court trembled when they audience shouted “to stop”. You could see M was enjoying this as she smiled.
Before Crazy for you she dedicated the song to her fans and said “It’s feels great to be home again. You guys are the best audience ever!”
We all went mad.
My favorite parts of the show where the songs where we all sang along like Nothing fails, Like a Prayer, Material girl… and I loves the Bagpipe and drums intro and Into the groove.
So the overall review: I loved the show and the musical arrangement. Madonna seemed more happy than during DWT, but DWT was the first concert I saw live and will always be a favorite.
Two thumbs up M! Can’t wait for Paris!
Special Thanks to Thierry
