Third night in Toronto
Here’s the review of the third and last show of the re-Invention tour at the Air Canada Cebtre by MadonnaTribe’s correspondent TorontoBoy
“Another awesome show in Toronto – the crowds just kept getting better and better!!! Here are some points that haven’t already been mentioned by fellow tribers:
• She missed the beginning part of the final bridge of Burning Up – exclaiming “OH SHIT! – laughs”
• In Deeper & Deeper, some people in the third row (right behind me) decided to sit… she walked up to the front of the stage and pointed “I don’t remember telling you that you could sit” in the middle of the song! LOL – they got the fuck up and didnt sit down for the rest of the show.
• Right before Mother And Father (which had people on the floor screaming and dancing! ) she said – “If I knew Toronto was gonna be so fun, I would’ve stayed for a month!”
• After pap Don’t Preach she said “I don’t want the concert to end! Let’s stay here all night! We can stage a protest! Hell no we won’t go! And then the police can come and try to arrest me!!. I can stay and sing all my songs – that should take at least another 10 hours!!!”
• During the American Life reprise, she sang “Do I have to change my name?” and said “Well, I did, but you don’t have to call me by it!” She continued to say “Don’t call me Esther!” again and laughed. The she messed up and sang, “Am I gonna be a star?” in the wrong order – so she said, “Well that’s pretty obvious…” she laughed so hard….she couldn’t stop, then she said, “This is so unprofessional, but I don’t give a FUCK!!!! – It’s the Canadian air that is making me crazy!”
She then said “My musical director is giving me dirty looks – so you all look at him and give him one!” so we all looked at Stuart… hehe (because he had to play keyboards throughout her talking….and she talked for a good 3-4 minutes). Finally she got herself together and resang the reprise. BRILLIANT MOMENT…
• She wore the ITALIANS DO IT BETTER shirt last night.
• In Holiday all of the male dancers ripped off their shirts, and she said “oh its going to be like that…fine, ALL THE FELLAS OFF WITH THE SHIRTS!!!” to the audience….many obliged!
It was an AWESOME send-off from Toronto, and no doubt she will remember her time here – she seemed to truly love it!”
