Tour memories from Marco
Even if the American leg of the tour is over we are happy to still receive reviews and tour memories from Tribers who attended the various shows…
“Hello Tribers,
Well I am submitting my review a bit late, just back from holidays.
And what a HOLIDAY it was. It sure started with the Concert Event of a
Lifetime.
Having been a Madonna FANatic since the very beginning, although I only saw
Madonna once before during the DWT, I was suppose to see her during the
Girlie Show, for the first time, but I was one of the misfortunate ones
living in Germany at the time, where she cancelled her Frankfurt date. But
I have finally forgiven her for that.
The Re-Invention Tour surely is an Eye Opener, Brain Teasing,
Sense-tingeling Concert Event not to be missed. Having been to many
concerts and even seen Madonna before. This concert is definately the
highlight of all concerts.
From the eye popping opening sequence with 3-D images of her Beast Within
number, to a show starting Vogue, the energy was at an all time high. The
crowd went nuts for her here in Canada, and I am sure we were the best in
her North American leg of the tour.
Nobody Knows me was one of my favourite, and the imagery of the perfomance
again was amazing. When the catwalk came down during American Life, and my
seats were Row 1 on the side of the floor, I finally made eye contact with
Madonna. I have never seen her so close and she looked like she was having
fun, not just through American Life and Experess yourself, but she seemed
to have enjoyed her visit in TO.
Frozen was performed beautifully, and Deeper and Deeper reminded me, ‘OH MY
GOD, I am seeing the Queen of Music‘ at that moment. Burning Up and
Material Girl, really brought the house down, and as far as I can see, not
many were left sitting. The video and entertainment provided during
Madonna’s dress change for Hollywood, were energetic and kept the crowd
going.
Hanky Panky, Die Another Day and Lament were also beautifully performed,
her voice was way better than during the DWT, and she really gave her fans
what they wanted. Eventhough I have never paid $300CDN for a concert
ticket, I was not dissapointed, I would have paid more.
The video to Bedtime Story was beautiful and fantastic. Her guitar
acoustics during Nothing Fails were very well performed. Madonna the ever
changing performer always has something new for her fans. Don’t Tell Me
and Like a Prayer sure gave me tears in my eyes.
As she performed Mother & Father, I started to loose my voice, its one of
my favourite songs on her latest album, and her perfomance gave it justice.
Most people dislike this song, but hearing it live will give a new spin on
the track.
Alot of lighters were raised during Imagine and it sure brought over an
emotional rollercoaster. Into the Groove was well Into the Groove, by this
point I was already grooving, but it was great to hear the classic
performed live for the first time in a long time.
During Crazy for You, I totally lost my voice and balled my eyes out. It
is such a beautiful song and a definite classic.
As the encore came shortly after Crazy for You, Music was sure a happier
intense music performance with an amazing intro to some of Madonna’s hits.
Amazingly performed, and then the grand finale Holiday, wow, she blew the
crowd literally with confetti and a well deserved standing ovation.
I just want to thank Madonna for providing me, and well all of us, if you
like to include yourself, for giving us a Concert Event of a Lifetime. She
sure is still the Queen of Music, the Queen of Reinvention. And definately
a GOD in my eyes. She sure sets high standards for any new performer
trying to follow in her foot steps.
