Tracksuit Collectables
You may hate how she looks wearing tracksuits, but apparently Madonna is setting the trend once again.
An article on icbirmingham describes how vintage sportswear has joined property, trust funds, or works of art as preferred ways for investors to place their cash.
“One wise money-maker from Solihull has tied his earnings up in vintage sports footwear and clothing and has seen his fortunes soar.
Robert Scarlett‘s collection of late 70s and early 80s trainers, tracksuits, hats and watches is worth more than £50,000.
One of the 31-year-old’s most prized assets is a £1,200 pair of Diadora pumps from 1981 signed by Swedish tennis star Bjorn Borg, who won Wimbledon every year between 1976 and 1980.
And Mr Scarlett has five out of the 300 limited-edition Adidas 83C tracksuit tops coveted by stars such as Madonna, Robbie Williams and Liam Gallagher.
He said: “I love wearing the stuff and I look good in it.”
