Tribe Preview – The Binah Classic Doll by Madame Alexander
Straight from Madonna‘s instant children’s classic “The English Roses,” the Alexander Doll company has created Binah.
This doll is wearing a charming school uniform of pleated skirt, sweater vest, blouse, shoes and socks. She also comes with a wonderful pink coat that she wears in the story and the adorable mouse that appears throughout the book. Her collectible box packaging features the engaging “The English Roses” artwork by illustrator Jeffrey Fulvimari. The doll is expected to be released in October.
THE ENGLISH ROSES
The English Roses is a story of rivalry and friendship among schoolgirls in contemporary London. Four little girls-Nicole, Amy, Charlotte, and Grace-are eleven years old and the very best of friends. They have sleepovers, picnics and ice-skating parties that exclude Binah, a beautiful girl whose seemingly perfect life makes them “green with envy.” However, when a feisty, pumpernickel-loving fairy godmother takes them on a magical journey, they learn to their great surprise that Binah’s life is not nearly as enviable as it had seemed. The English Roses is an inspiring story about the importance of compassion and the rewards of friendship.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
The Alexander Doll Company (ADC) was founded 80 years ago by Madame Beatrice Alexander Behrman, the daughter of Russian immigrants. Her love of dolls led this dynamic woman to creating her own line of dolls.
Madame Alexander infused a sense of excitement and wonderment in her fine quality, handcrafted dolls. She initiated a series of firsts in the toy industry: the first doll based on a licensed character (Scarlett from Gone With the Wind), which led to the creation of dolls based on characters from popular motion pictures; the first to bring feature baby dolls to market; the first to create dolls in honor of living people (Queen Elizabeth, the Dionne Quints). Madame Alexander was also the first to introduce the first full figured fashion doll (Cissy) with haute couture outfits.
