Tribers’ reviews – She was still sick last night…
MadonnaTribe forum member rmurphy37 tells his experience at last night’s show. Unfortunately Madonna was still sick last night and she told the audience:
“Thanks for your concern over my cancellation of the second show… I’m still not 100%, but I’m not a quiter. You are all giving me such positive energy and I want to give it back…”

During Material Girl, she acknowledged her mess up from the previous night. She said something to the effect of: “You’re gonna help me out here… I have a hard time remembering the words, because this song is so fucking old!”
That said…
She messed up in Deeper and Deeper… had to let a measure or two go by before she could come back in with the proper lyrics.
During this set, she wears a black headband with a jewel on it… it flipped off during the song… She rolled her eyes and threw it off stage.
In Imagine she forgot the words to the second line and had to come back in after a few measures.
During Into the Groove, there’s a dance move where the dancers are moving the sticks under her and she’s doing a hopscotch over them. They kept tripping her with the sticks, so she just rolled her eyes and aborted the dance steps.
From my seats, I could actually see backstage. After the concert was over, all the dancers swarmed her and gave her a big group hug. They walked with her off the stage, where Guy was backstage. He gave her a hug and took her by the hand, presumably to her dressing room.
I was reminded of Truth or Dare: “Definitely one of the all time worst!!”
And yet, I wanted to tell her that despite her being sick, we were all so thankful that she decided to put on the show. Despite the mess ups it was fucking amazing and there was not a single fan who left disappointed.
Opening night I was at the bottom of Log 27, which gave great views of all the monitors and screens.
Last night I was in Log 12 and I was initially disappointed because I couldn’t see the big screens in the opening. I was too close to the stage. However, before the show, I could see backstage… saw them adjusting her hair and makeup, tweaking her costume. She actually came on stage behind these huge screens and stretched and did yoga. Everytime a trap door was opened in the stage, I could see below it. It was an interesting look into the behind the scenes.
Also, during Crazy for You, she was right there in my face!! It was very cool, despite her illness. I hope she makes a full recovery before Vegas, because you could tell she was frustrated because she did not feel well enough to perform the show as she knows she can.
