Update on Slane Castle gig
MadonnaTribe Forum member menime123 brings you the latest news about the Slane Castle stop of Madonna’s re-Invention tour.
As our readers remember, the concert – set to be held in Ireland on August 29 – is waiting for the permission to be granted from the Meath County authorities. menime123 has now reported that the final announcement by the local authorities is due in three days, on June 8.
There are currently eight complaints, and one representation produced between March 31 and May 14, one single person has been placing three complaints himself, one looking like a petition.
The application was made by the local irish promoter, MCD Productions Ltd, describing the development as follows:
“A concert consisting of live music performance. The intended date of the event is 29th August 2004. The anticipated number of audience attending the event will not exceed 80,000 people“.
An interesting fact though is that there was an application fee of €2500.
As Madonna’s camp has previously told our member menime123, they have no idea if they will get permission, but promised they would definately play in Ireland. Let’s keep our finger crossed for the one and only open air event of the tour!
