As previously reported – thanks to our forum member menime123, the Meath County website states that the decision about the Slane gig of the re-invention tour due on the 8th june. He has now been informed that this information is not accurate.

Officials from the council informed our forum member that “under legislation they do not have a time limit within which they must make a decision on an application for an Event Licence such as the licence application for Slane Concert”.

As you already know, the council cannot not make a decision earlier than 5 weeks after receiving the application. The date that is showing up for decision is only showing up on the County’s website as they have to key in the application and it automatically generates an decision due date as per a planning application ie 8 weeks from the date of receipt of the application.

So what’s going on? The decision hasn’t been made yet on the Slane application, but be sure that we’ll keep you up to date on the situation.
