Wayne, re-Invented
This story come from MadonnaTribe reader wayne
Wow!! what a week its been so far, I’ve been re-invented 5 times already! first was the Manchester gigs, the excitement was finally over and I got to witness 2 stellar performances by the first lady of pop who has been my idol for 16yrs, both nights I was in the 3rd row and got the best views, from the haunting Beast Withtin to the much celebrated Holiday I boogie woogied til I droped.
Manchester rocked!! and the atmosphere was electric, i never thought i would ever sing happy birthday to Madonna but I did, and congratulations should be paid to all that organised the mass sing along.
With just a couple of days spare before the Earls Court gigs I headed home paid some bills fed the dog then headed to London for my 3rd Re- invention. As I walked into the lobby of the travel lodge in Earls Court I was taken aback by the large crowd of Maddy fans booking into the hotel, this was Madonna town for the next few nights!! The opening night in london was awesome, my favourite night so far, the crowd had an early suprise when Kylie and Danni Minogue entered the arena, tonight was the night the stars came out to play, U2 were there as with a scattering of Big Brother contestants old and new. The show was slick, and very proffessional, i get the feeling Madonna knows when the critics are out in force and tonight was the night, no room for messing around!
Second night at Earls Court was rocking too, much more fun Madonna, she seems to speak much more on the second nights than the opening nights, anyone else agree? Well I was blown away again. I got the chance to meet some colourful fans in the pub before the gig and something I’ve noticed too is that fans are not spending small amounts at the merchandise desk, they are spending hundreds!! We must be the richest fans on earth. All in all London was awesome.
Well, last night was the last night for me to see the Re-invention in london, and again I was blown away. This is the first time Madonna has played Wembley Arena, before now it has always been Wembley stadium, which I have been to many times to see the queen of pop. Last nights show saw Madonna on top form, she spoke more with the crowd and we loved it, i love it when she is chatty. I met a pen pal after the show which I have had since ’93 and it was a nice way to end my uk leg of my Re-invention experience. Andy u rock!!
So now I am almost skint, but i have next weeks concert at Slane to look foward to, then I will be going to Paris for my last ever Re-invention at the palais de omnisport de bercy. Im gonna be so sad when it is all over for me. I am a small town boy from Swansea Uk and I have spent my summer following Madonna around 3 different countrys, its been incredible so far and ive experienced excitement like never before. The friends I have made and the places ive been will stay with me forever. It has been my privillige to spend my time and money on the greatest showgirl EVER!!
Thanks to wayne for sharing his re-invention with the Tribe.
