A week full of premieres for The Ritchies
As MadonnaTribe reported back in July, Guy Ritchie’s new movie “Revolver” will have its UK premiere tomorrow, September 20, 2005 at the Odeon cinemas in London’s Leicester Square. The event kicks off at 6.15pm.
UK fans are hoping to get a glimpse of Mrs Ricthie’s attending the premiere as well – just as it happened at the Toronto Film Festival – and many entered the competitions held by several different newssource, including the movie’s official website, This Is London, Channel 4 and ITV (their competition, notably, closes today, September 19, while others ended on Friday) and more.
The UK press has already started a buzz about the premiere and reports about Guy attending with The Wife: “Guy Ritchie, Madonna and Jason Statham step out at London’s Leicester Square for the UK premiere of gangster flick Revolver. Ritchie’s film has a familiar theme set in London’s underworld, with the focus on card sharks and gangsters.” (The Mirror)
At the same time the local media in France are also boosting the excitiment of the fans of Madonna and Guy as they report that The Ritchies will also be attending the French Avant 1ère VIP of the movie. On September 22, 2005 Madonna and Guy Ritchie are expected to be joined at the premiere by Luc Besson, who co-produced the movie with his Europacorp.
Competitions to win tickets for the French premiere are also running – please check your local newspapers, TV and radio stations for details.
In the meantime, be sure not to miss the exclusive video interview with Guy Ritchie that is currently available on The Sun Online website.
“Guy Rtchie’s Revolver is one of the most eagerly anticipated movies of 2005. And who better to tell us all about it than the hip British director himself.
Details of the film have been kept top secret up until now – with only a short trailer released to the public – but Sun Online can be the first to reveal what happens in the gangster flick, revealing how Revolver is more ‘grown up’ than those previous efforts and features plot twists and turns reminiscent of The Usual Suspects.
He also explained how the central theme of the film is ‘who’s conning who‘ – and hinted at some of the things eagle-eyed movie-goers should be looking out for.”
