Album Review by The Crawl

The Crawl had the chance to attend the Italian listen meeting held to give djs and journalists a first look at Confessions On A Dance Floor.
Here is a track by track review of the album by The Crawl:
“It’s a very good album and it’s hard to remain still while you are listening to it. It’s full of sounds and it’s an album that really grows on you more and more at each listening…”
• Hung Up: The album version lasts about 5 minutes. At the end you can hear just the clock ticking and the sound of an alarm clock.
• Get Togheter: Sounds very similar to “Music Sounds Better With You” by Sturdust, very catchy.
• Sorry: I can confirm it will be the next single. It starts with violions and Madonna’s voice saying sorry in many languages. It’s funny that she says
“Sono Spiacente” in Italian (instead of the common word ‘Scusa’).
The song has a strong chorus going: “I don’t wanna hear, I don’t wanna know, please don’t say I’m sorry.. please don’t say forgive me“. It will be a Hit for sure.
• Future Lovers: It starts like Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love”, Madonna whispers a few word before singing. The way it’s sung reminds a lot
Light Years by Kylie Minogue.
• I Love New York: It has an intro very similar to Ray Of Light, the song then takes a new wave feel along the way and it reminds of Blue Monday by
New Order. Very very dance, it ends with the sound of a police car.
• Let It Will Be: Violin intro a la Mirwais that reminds of Die Another Day,
whispered and sung with prominent voice, it’s very funny and the pop-iest song of the album.
• Forbidden Love: It has nothing to do with the same title song on Bedtime Stories. It’s a very “clean” song that gives a strong “night feel”.
Her voice is filtered and vocoded at the beginning and it’s a love song. There’s a male voice doing backing vocals on the chorus that may well be
Stuart Price.
• Jump: Pulsant Bass, whispered voice and violins, a funny song to dance to, with Madonna singing:
“Are you ready to jump?“. The song ends with the noise of a plane taking off.
• How High: Her voice has robotic effects at the beginning and it’s a song very disco and very funny. It ends with violins that mix it to the following song.
• Isaac: I know many people have great expectations from this song, but I must say that in my opionion is the
worst song of the album. It starts with a male voice chanting in hebrew, then bass becomes prominent and it sounds a bit like
Dragostea VS Youssou N Dor.
• Push: It’s the song that really impressed me, it has a vague black rhythm, with lots of percussions, the song changes its rhythm many times.
• Like It Or Not: Intro a la Frozen, although it’s a dance song there’s an acustic guitar going on all the time, closing the song.
It’s the best song to close the album, Madonna sings: “I’ll be garden, you’ll be snake, all of my fruits are yours to take.. This is who I am you can like it or not, you can love me or leave me”.
