Architectural Digest inside Madonna’s NYC Home
Seeing Vogue‘s beautiful layout on Madonna‘s incredible country home reminded me of the cover story Architectural Digest did on Madonna’s amazing New York apartment in 1991, her New York home to this day – writes our friend and MadonnaTribe contributor Dye Another Day.
“AD,” as it’s known in the decorating world, is the premiere magazine in interior design and is published by Conde Nast publications, the same house that publishes Vogue, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, GQ, and many other prestigious magazines.
This apartment has been described many times by various publications when profiling Madonna, but here it is photographed exclusively for Architectural Digest. I own a copy of this and scanned it just for MadonnaTribe.
The layout features the work of one “Christopher G. Ciccone,” who decorated the apartment between jobs – in addition to decorating the Blond Ambition and the Girlie Show stages, Christopher is regarded as a major artist in his own right and has decorated several restaurants and law offices in New York, L.A., and elsewhere, while also showing his artwork in major New York art galleries.
The 11-page cover story and layout features a rare glimpse of Madonna’s sitting room, dining room, bedroom, bath, and, yes, Madonna’s gym. Gasp!
Special thanks to Steve aka Dye Another Day.
