Ari Gold touring Italy this week
European fans of singer sensation Ari Gold have now a chance to know this great new artist a little better: Ari is currently touring Europe with a series of club dates in France, Switzerland and Italy.
Ari is an old acquaintance of Madonna Tribers, as we first had a chance to talk about him, his music and his devotion for our common Diva back in January 2003, talking about “Fan-tastic“, a song that he describes as “an ode to gay divas and Madonna in particular”, and the homage he paid to his favourite diva and to the late photographer Herb Ritts with his “Wave of You“, a video which is heavily inspired by Ritts’ art and videos especially Madonna’s Cherish.
It’s now time to get to know Ari Gold a little better. He already visited Lyon, Bern and Paris, where he played at legenday club “Queen” and taped an unplugged show for Pink TV.
This week Ari visits Parma and Turin in Italy.
One of the biggest thrills of Ari’s life was the day he met Madonna, as you can read from his own words in this interview published by Metroweekly back in October 2004:
“Actually, I exchanged words with her,” recalls Gold, whose own pop stardom is on the rise. “I don’t think that constitutes as meeting her. Nobody said, ‘Madonna, this is Ari.’ It was backstage at the Rosie O’Donnell Show. I told her that I liked her boots and she said ‘Thank you.'”
Gold, who was raised an Orthodox Jew, says it was the pop superstar who helped him “realize there was a world outside of the Yeshiva [Jewish Orthodox school].” To that end, he dedicated a song to Madonna on his new album, Space Under Sun. The name of the song? “Fan-Tastic.”
