Arno’s Madonna Frames
MadonnaTribe reader Arno is sharing today his Madonna memories with our visitors:
“Hi All,
I took these photos today and thought I would share them with The
Tribe. They are all great memories that I framed and now have on
display on the walls in our study and guest bedroom. I had help with
the exterior frames but assembled the interiors and the backing
myself. Hope you enjoy it!
The First Frame is of the Music CD that I bought on its release date
in 2000 at the HQ of HMV in Oxford Street, London. There were only 123
cards pre-signed in silver pen and delivered by Madonna‘s record
company representatives in London. I stood in a Q from 3am until the
shop opened at 9am but it was definitely worth it!
My Second Frame is of The Drowned World Tour. I was working on a
Carnival cruise ship at the time but managed to blag my way clear to
be able to see Madonna on the 15th of August 2001 in the National Car
Rental Center in Miami, Florida. My friend Rudiker (who flew in
especially from South Africa) and I sang Happy Birthday to her with
the rest of the crowd that night and Guy gave her a big old B-day cake
on stage!
On this frame I also have a Wooden Rosary that I bought at the
Catacombs in Rome, Italy last year. I have been a Madonna fan since
1989 with Like a Prayer and have wanted one ever since then. I have
had a few chances over the years to buy one but they were never just
right and when I saw this one last year I just knew that my 15 year
search was finally over!
My third frame is the biggest for it represents three different shows.
As you can (hopefully!) see I tried to capture the feel of the Vogue
montage in the beginning of the Re-Invention Show. With this tour I
managed to see Her Highness three times. First was with my mother and
BF Steve (he bought us VIP tickets as a special treat!) on the 19th of
August 2004 at Earls Court, London. Then the following week I saw her
at Wembley Arena, London on the 25th of August 2004 with my friend
Tanya. Then finally my friend Rudiker (that by now relocated to the UK
as well) repeated our big trek of 2001 and flew to Dublin, Ireland for
the Slane Castle show that Sunday.
Happy Valentines Day to all!
