Bedtime Story flyer
Our dear friend Steve aka Dye Another Day is back on M-Tribe to delight us once again with his fan memories and memorabilia:
“Since this is perceived to be a “slow” period and people are preparing to see “The Re-invented Process” in theaters, I thought I’d dig around in my scrapbook and find something to share with you. This is a scan of the flyer used to promote the screening of “Bedtime Story,” directed by Mark Romanek, at the Chelsea Cinemas in New York. This was also the theater where I saw “Truth or Dare.”
The video was screened before each movie, so the only catch was that you had to pay to see a movie. (I ended up picking “Little Women,” with Winona Ryder and Susan Sarandon.) I’d say this was around February 1995, because I remember that “Little Women” was nominated for the Academy Award, and I remember seeing it before the Oscars. It was really amazing to see a Madonna video in a theater, with the huge screen and sound system. “Bedtime Story” is also very cinematic, so it was very powerful. When all the doves flew out of her dress, I completely freaked. A lot of people dashed out of the theater when the video was over. I stayed through “Little Women,” and remained in my seat so I could watch the video one more time. I remember going off to a bar when it was over and describing the video to a few friends who were waiting for me. It’s a pretty hard video to describe!
Peace,
Steve aka DyeAnotherDay”
