In two weeks “Confessions” sold 328,137 copies in the United Kingdom (217,610 in the first and 110,527 in the second week) and has already been certified Platinum (300,000 copies).
This also means that in two week only “Confessions” has sold more than “American Life” that were slighlty more than 340,000 in Juanuary 2005.
“Hung Up” sold 40,254 this week, almost two times how did Westlife do at #2. The total for the new Madonna single so far is 205,351 meaning that it has already gained the Silver disc status (200,000 copies).
