Humoresque
Last week we posted a screen cap comparison of the 1946 film Humoresque with Joan Crawford and Madonna‘s video, The Power of Goodbye. Since then we’ve been receiving many emails asking for more info about that film and if it’s available on dvd in Europe.
In Humoresque, a film about exploration of desire, Crawford is Helen Wright, a woman torn between selfish impulses and selfless love. John Garfield is the co-star while Jean Negulesco is directing. When it was originally released the film was a box-office smash, coming soon after the Oscar Crawford won for her role in Mildred Pierce.
Humoresque has been now fully restored from the original camera negative and will be part of a new boxed set by Warners Uk, containing four films and available exclusively at HMV stores in the UK. The box sex, titled The Joan Crawford Collection, will be released on August 22 2005.
As you all know, Madonna’s video for The Power Of Goodbye, directed by Matthew Rolston is available commercially on the DVD compilation “Video Collection 93:99”
