13.10 London Time: Madonna fans are delighted to see the Express Yourself music video on the two big screens of the Live 8 stage.

13.50 London Time: A male speaker is telling the audience that the show is about to run till 10 clock tonight and wishing everyone a good time.

14.05 London Time: Photos of the main great personalities such as John Lennon and Bob Dylan are used as a video backdrop during U2 and Paul McCartney‘s performance. Madonna is among them. The stars are arranged as in a family portrait picture. A photo of M from the presentation of Evita is used for the Queen of Pop.

16.20 London Time: The show continues smoothly – the breaks between the acts are quite long, nothing like the “stage instant swap” thing that was rumoured. REM are on stage now, the schedule is the same as the one announced by AOL so far. The AOL webcast runs smoothly as well.

16.29 London Time: Kofi Annan appears on stage for a short “thank you” message to the “real united nations.

17.00 London Time: Philadelphia has just joined the Live 8 worldwide concerts.

17.32 London Time: Bob Geldof “couldn’t resist” to perform on the Live 8 stage and adds a surprise performance to the concert setlist.

18.00 London Time: A male speaker cheered up the audience by saying: “Still to come we have Madonna, yes Madonna!”. He then introduced UB40 who are playing a medley of their hits right now. Madonna is due to be on stage after two more acts.
