Julien D’Ys’ carnet de travail is finally available to collectors
What appears to be the “ultimate re-Invention tour collectable” is finally available at French bookstore Colette.
It’s a “Carnet de Travail”, a working booklet, by hair stylist and artist Julien D’Ys and it’s a testimony of his work with Madonna for the re-Invention tour’s promotional photos by Steven Klein.
This rare and enchanting booklet, which is limited to just 3000 pieces, contains many unreleased photos of Madonna on the Steven Klein sets during photo tests. Among them some in which she looks very ‘serious and with no make up on’, as Julian D’Ys himself told Spotlight magazine.
Many of the photos are Polaroids by Julien D’Ys and Madonna gave permission to release this booklet, which has also some text translated into Japanese. The Julien D’ys series of booklets (this one is number 7), were originally destined to his many fans in Japan.
This booklet is available during the month of January 2005 only at 50 Euros from
the Colette bookshop.
