Lenny Kravitz recalls how Justify My Love was born
Singer Lenny Kravitz in an interview from Miami to Brazilian newspaper Folha briefly recalls how the collaboration with Madonna on Justify My Love was born.
“The response at the time [ 1990 ] was enormous. I wrote the song soon after the success of “Let Love Rule“. At the time I was the newest kid on the block.
I wrote the song in the studio and when it was finished I thought: “This is not right for me”. I didn’t know Madonna at the time but I called her and said: “I have a number one hit song for you.” And she said: “Oh really?” and I said: “Yes, a number one song.” She asked to meet me in the studio and play the music for her.
She heard it one time, then a second time and said: “Ok let’s record it.”
It was crazy, it really went to number one. It was my first number one in the charts.”
Lenny is playing shows in Brazil this coming March.
