Love Saves The Day
Our reader Jonah takes us today to see how the shop Love Saves The Day, seen in the 1984 movie Desperately Seeking Susan looks nowdays.
The old specialist store located at 119 2nd Ave (Cnr of 2nd & 7th St)
in the middle of the East Village is seen twice in the movie.
Johan says: “Not only this is Madonna’s old stomping ground but it’s the exact store that Madonna as Susan walks past in the movie, looks in the window (first one next to the front door) and tries to steal those Rhinestone boots. The store is real and has been in the East Village for decades and still retains the name. The character of Gary in the movie returns to the store with the shopping bag that has the stores name on it.”
Special thanks to Jonah for this trip down memory lane that fans of “Susan” will certainly enjoy
