Madonna: In a Sling and Back to Work
Yesterday night Entertainment Tonight showed a short preview of the story they are going to feature today about Madonna back at work on the new Motorola commercial.
“It’s hard to keep the “Material Girl” down! Even though her arm is still in a sling, Madonna is back to work as the star of a new television commercial for Motorola’s ROKR, the world’s first mobile phone with iTunes.
Directed by Jesse Dylan, the month-long “Phone Booth” campaign premieres in the U.S. today, and is set to the soundtrack of Madonna’s “Hung Up,” the first single release from her upcoming album.
Little Richard, Alanis Morissette, The Bravery, Iggy Pop, Biggie Smalls, Ahmir, Beethoven are also part of the campaign for the phone that holds up to 100 of its owner’s favorite songs. The transfer can be made to the mobile phone from the iTunes jukebox on their home computer.
The idea for “Phone Booth,” shot in both London and New York, came from the phone booth-packing craze of 1959. Madonna was injured on August 16, while riding a horse at Ashcombe House, her country estate outside of London. She was celebrating her 47th birthday with her husband, Guy Ritchie, and her two children, when she fell off the horse, sustaining three cracked ribs, a broken collarbone and a broken hand. The award-winning artist was taken to a hospital and subsequently released.
