Madonna Interview on www.nickjr.com
Our community member Socali informs us that there’s a Madonna interview about her children’s books on the www.nickjr.com website. Here are a couple of the questions to Madonna. We invite you to click here to read the full interview on www.nickjr.com.
Nick Jr: What can you tell us about your fifth book, Lotsa de Casha?
Madonna: Lotsa de Casha is about a very wealthy Great Dane that lives in a palace in the hills of Italy, and he has all the riches and everything that money can buy – except he’s not happy. And he can’t figure out why he’s not happy.
And he ends up getting robbed and having everything taken from him and then he gets picked up by a bison named Mr. Forfilla. And Mr. Forfilla takes him on a little journey and he has to, basically, for the first time in his life, earn things. . . . So in this process of earning things, he realizes that material things are not actually the key to happiness – sharing with people is the key to happiness.
Nick Jr: What’s your writing process like? Do you have particular habits about when and where you write?
Madonna: Well, I like to write in my office when my children aren’t around. I have a muse; I have this little statue of a woman, a kneeling woman by this sculptor named Kiki Smith, and I put her in front of me. She gives me inspiration. And I just start writing on my computer. And I just give myself a goal and a deadline and I just do it.
