Madonna Performance at Belgian Art centre STUK
On Thursday, March, 24, Belgian arts centre STUK organised a Madonna performance to close their three week “Vadermoord” event, a festival where Belgian artists are invited to pay tribute to their musical roots.
The performance, hosted by Verity, was conceived for a seated audience and featured mostly non-danceable music. Musically, an eclectic cocktail of acapella, drum&bass, punk, ambient and deconstructed pop was to be heard.
On a screen, various iconic images from Madonna‘s incredible body of work were continuously mixed together, including amateur footage from the Re-Invention Tour as well as the infamous “egg” art film from 1974.
Not advertised as a fan event, it was nevertheless a success and lasted an hour longer than planned.
Pictures of the event taken by Bart Macken are shown below.
