Madonna’s Confessions set for a #1 debut
The overwhelmingly positive response to Madonna‘s new single, “Hung Up“, heralds a triumphant return to form.
“It may not be innovative but it’s catchy as hell, we’ve had dozens of Madonna fans ringing to ask us to play it again” Nova music director Dan Bessant, who programmed the track’s first Australian airing at 10am on Saturday, said.
Songs after song, album after album, Madonna has translated the cutting edge into mainstream pop or created the next trend with the help of sonic clubland architects.
Her musical director for “Hung Up” and the new album, “Confessions On A Dancefloor”, is Stuart Price, the man of the moment on the dance scene having produced remixes for The Killers, Gwen Stefani and New Order.
Equally significant is the fact that Madonna is only the second artist ever to get permission to sample one of history’s biggest pop group, ABBA.
Once again Madonna has proven she is one of the most astute artists or our time and there is little doubt Confessions On A Dance Floor, out next month, is set for a No.1 debut.
