The new Madonna production “Material Girls” is now casting! This hip new feature film will star Hilary Duff as the teenage heiress of a major cosmetics company who loses her family fortune after a scandal and must fight with her sister to win back her standing.

“Material Girls“, a new feature film from Maverick Films, is now casting major roles for production starting in mid-April.

“Material Girls” is being co-produced by Michael Mendelsohn, Milton Kim, Susan Duff and David Faigenblum. It was written by John Quaintance (“Joey”) and will be directed by Martha Coolidge (“Real Genius”).

Madonna has produced several films for her company Maverick Entertainment, including “Cody Banks” and “30 Days Until I’m Famous”. She has also starred in “The Next Best Thing“, “Evita“, “Four Rooms“, and “A League of Their Own“.

Production is scheduled to begin in mid April 2005.

ROLES AVAILABLE:

FEMALES

Sienna, any ethnicity, 18 – mid 20s. A gawky young woman who is the receptionist at Marchetta Cosmetics. She wears a baby-tee and micromini skirt. She idolizes the famous Marchetta sisters, and she has even gotten a nose job to look more like Tanzie Marchetta. Sienna is kind-hearted but sometimes has low self-esteem. She will do anything to make her bosses happy.

Charlene, any ethnicity, Late 20s – Mid 30s. The fast-talking publicist for the wealthy Marchetta sisters. Charlene is attractive but cynical and jaded. She is often pushy. She is very protective of her clients.

Fabiella, any ethnicity, Mid 30s – 40s. The CEO of a major cosmetics company, Fabiella is a flamboyant, very savvy businesswoman. She looks like “a couture train wreck” in a chocolate brown Chanel dress which looks out of place on her. LEAD ROLE

Inez, Latina, Mid 30s – 40s. She is a maid from El Salvador. Dry-witted, down-to-earth, someone who speaks her mind, she’s got two daughters still living in El Salvador whom she’s hoping to bring to the United States soon. When her young employers find themselves broke and homeless, she allows them to stay in her children’s already-furnished room. Despite her reservations about their outlandish behavior, she clearly loves the girls like her own. LEAD ROLE

Laporsha, any ethnicity, 20s – 30s. She is a rough-looking, unkempt woman from the streets. She meets Tanzie in a holding cell in jail. Laporsha is not exactly what you might call a “glamourous” woman. But even she is impressed with Tanzie’s impromptu exfoliation techniques which she demonstrates in jail.

Butch Donna, any ethnicity, 20s – 30s. Completely covered in tattoos, even on her bald head, she is in the holding cell with Tanzie. She, too, is impressed with Tanzie’s beauty tips.

MALES

Henry Kelly, Caucasian, Mid 20s – 30s. He is cute in a rumpled way and clearly in need of a nap. Henry is a lawyer with the Greater Los Angeles Free Legal Clinic. Still paying off his student loans while doing pro bono work for the poor, he takes a real liking to the famous Ava Marchetta, despite their obvious differences. He’s confused, intrigued, but clearly smitten when she comes to him for help. LEAD ROLE

Rick, any ethnicity, 20s. A handsome guy who works at the Marchetta cosmetics factory, he is an approachable, easy-going sort who seems to appear just when the girls need help most. There’s clearly some chemistry heating up between Rick and Tanzie. We later discover that he is a chemist at the cosmetics company, and not a parking attendant as the girls had first assumed. LEAD ROLE

Craig, any ethnicity, Mid 30s – 40s. He is the Marchetta Cosmetics company’s chief financial officer, very slick and preppy. Usually seen with his cell phone glued to his ear, obviously distracted, he explains to the girls who run the company that merging with Fabiella Cosmetics is the right move.

Mic Rionn, Caucasian, 20s. He is a young Hollywood-actor-hunk, star of a hit show, very into himself, and Ava’s fiance. However, the engagement is off once he learns that Ava’s company has gone belly up.

Rudy Schweigert, any ethnicity, 30s – 40s. He is a T.V. consumer affairs reporter. He’s obnoxious.

Etienne, any ethnicity, 20s. A friend of the girls, he is a jet-setter type, an androgynous, multi-racial, exotic supermodel guy with long, silky black hair.
