Milan welcomes Madonna
MadonnaTribe can show its readers how the Versace boutique in Milan looked like the night of the Versace fashion show last week.
The dresses and accessories we’ve seen on Madonna in magazine ads are displayed in the shop windows along with a huge Madonna picture.
As our readers and literally everyone in the Milan fashion world know, Madonna was in talks to attend the Versace show as well as a few more events during a visit to Italy that has being planned since the end of last year, but a few days before the event she cancelled her appearances for a series of reasons and left for the US instead.
There was definitly a lot of Madonna at the Versace event anyway as everything was ready to welcome the Queen of pop to the capital of fashion. The two main Italian newspapers, for example, featured a full-page Versace advertisting on their last page, each presenting for the first time that day an unreleased Versace ad of Madonna by Mario Testino, and the International Herald Tribune came out wrapped by the instant-famous four page portfolio (a limited edition) we exclusively showed you last week.
In an interview given to Radio Montecarlo that same day, Donatella Versace had again nice words of admiration for Madonna, saying that she’s “strong, determinate and a winner” that
“embodies the woman of today, a manager, a working woman who is not afraid to be glamorous, even during the day.”
Among the celebrities who attended the Versace show on Thursday night, Elizabeth Hurley and Madonna’s friend Missy Elliott.
A huge thanks to our friends in Milan
