Promise to try

“My name is Scott and I am contacting you because my best friend Kristina Miller was the American killed in the blast in Egypt on Friday. It was her birthday.

She and I shared a love of Madonna that bonded us forever. I just recently spent 6 weeks with her in London where we went to the Versace store on Bond St. and took pictures with the Madonna windows. She had tried to get tickets to Live 8 but was unable to. She had called to tell me that she had seen it on tv and what and inspiring performance Madonna had given and how she hoped it would make a difference.

I am a video editor and I had brought along my video camera to document my trip when I visited. Unfortunately, I will be making a video for her funeral instead.

I will be using the song “Promise to try” because she loved it so much, and it just seems fitting. She will be laid to rest next Tuesday.

I can’t kiss her goodbye, but I promise to try.
