She’s got a badge! She’s got a badge!
UK Newspaper The Mirror features today a full page article about Madonna and her Blue Peter appearance later this week.
Madonna squeals with delight as she joins one of the world’s most exclusive clubs – after being presented with a Blue Peter badge.
The pop queen looked genuinely thrilled when she received the coveted award during a guest spot on the long-running BBC1 children’s show.
She clapped her hands and declared gleefully: “I wanna be a member of the Blue Peter club!”
Then she burst into song, chirping: “I’ve got a badge, I’ve got a badge.”
The honour puts her in some illustrious company. Brad Pitt and Joseph Fiennes got badges after being interviewed about their roles in Disney film Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas. Other famous holders include the Queen, Jonathan Ross and Wallace and Gromit creator Nick Park.
Madonna, 46, will be seen on Wednesday‘s show talking about her fourth children’s book, The Adventures of Abdi.
She told presenter Matt Baker the tale was inspired by the story of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, which she loved as a child.
She said she tested her ideas on her children Lourdes, seven, and three-year old Rocco. After handing over the badge, Matt invited the London-based singer to go filming with the intrepid Blue Peter team any time she wanted.
Smiling Madonna paused and gazed down at her feet before asking hopefully: “Do you ever go shopping for shoes?“.
