Successful Dirty Ego
This week, as we celebrate the second anniversary of Madonna’s latest studio album we also take time have a look at its succesful artwork and logo.
First it was the Dirty Ego. Soon after the release of the Madonna’s American Life album and single, fans from all over the world started looking for the specific font used on the M/M Paris designed artwork to produce their own avatars and forum signatures.
Double red stripes also suddenly appeared on black and white portraits of Madonna’s fans, to match their diva’s latest look.
One year later, dafont.com made available a brand new font, called indeed American Life and designed by ReInvention2004, which reproduces the original M/M Paris original type very well.
M/M Paris used their original type in year 2000 for their “No Ghost Just A Shell” poster for the Ann Lee project by Pierre Huyghe & Philippe Parreno (Shown Below next to a “Madonna alphabet letter” done for the album artwork).
