The Daily Mail says: No Madonna in Cannes
From today’s Baz Bamingboye column on The Daily Mail:
“It’s a no-Cannes-do situation for Madonna and a documentary she hoped would have it’s world premiere at next month’s Cannes Film Festival. High-ranking officials at the festival’s Paris headquarters felt the film was “interesting” but needed more work.
So Madonna and director Jonas Ackerlund, who shot the drugland movie Spun, have been holed up in an editing suite, cutting here and adding voice-overs there.
There has been talk, my sources in the French capital tell me, of Madonna being offered a spot on the Cannes official jury but the talks didn’t work out. I guess we’ll see the picture at Venice in the autumn.”
