The doors of Heaven are not closed.
Our reader Mattan from Israel is very happy with Madonna‘s new album. After checking it out on the MTV website he wants to share some tidbits about the song Isaac with our readers. He says:
“Now to my point ? about the much talked about song ‘Isaac’ ? the male singer there is singing an old Yemenite jewish song called ‘Im Nin ‘Alu‘ and the sampled part of that song translates to ‘if the doors of the kind are locked ? the doors of heaven are not closed‘.
The funny thing is that this traditional song was recorded during the 80’s by the Israeli singer of Yemenite origin Ofra Haza and her rendition was mixed and became a hit in Europe. Years later, Ofra Haza covered Madonna’s ‘Open Your Heart‘ for the ‘Virgin Voices‘ tribute album, before she died of AIDS a few years ago.
Funny how the wheel turns and now Madonna takes her inspiration from the song made famous by Ofra Haza. I thought you might want to know that.”
Thanks to Mattan for sharing these tidbits with M-Tribe
cheers!
