The Mannerism of Reinvention
The Idol, MadonnaTribe’s own magazine keeps bringing our readers back to the days of the European leg of the re-Invention Tour.
It’s now time to concentrate on the music that made Madonna‘s latest touring experience so unique and analyse the way the songs of the Re-Invention Tour were”re-invented” and also to talk about some of many behind the scenes details that Tribe Team gathered from various sources and people who worked on the Tour.
Among the tidbits you’ll find in the article:
– The band tried to convince Madonna to perform “Love Profusion” in Europe, but not to replace Crazy For You, as rumoured. A brand new acoustic version that was never managed to be rehearsed had to be performed instead of Nothing Fails.
– Another Madonna classic song was meant to be in the setlist in the place where now “Imagine” is. It is said that it was Guy Ritchie himself to suggest “Live To Tell” to be replaced by the new cover song.
– Plenty of rock also in the version of “I’m so Stupid” re-arranged for the Tour but never performed to the live audience. You could really hear the old – Chrissy Hynde sounding/early years Madonna in this one.
