Tsunami benefit Concert expanding to two hours
NBC is likely to add a second hour to Saturday’s live tele cast of “Tsunami Aid: A Concert of Hope“, the New York Post reports.
The concert, which will air across all of NBC‘s cable channels – including USA, Bravo, Trio and SCI FI – features a laundry list of super stars. Money raised during the program will be donated to the Red Cross for its efforts to offer relief to the millions affected by last month’s killer tsunami in Southeast Asia.
Initially, the networks had planned to devote just one hour to the telecast, but the overwhelming interest from dozens of A-listers has convinced top execs at NBC that the show should be longer. Among those scheduled to perform are Madonna, Sheryl Crow, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Maroon 5, Norah Jones, Sarah McLachlan, Mary J. Blige, Lenny Kravitz, John Mayer, Kenny Chesney, India.Arie, Tom Jones, Eric Clapton, Roger Waters, Brian Wilson and Gloria Estefan.
