Warner & CHUM exclusive party in Toronto
Here’s a report from last night’s “Confessions” exclusive listening party in Toronto courtesy of torontophoenix.
“Tonight I attended the exclusive invite-only Warner Music & CHUM Radio Industry Party for “Confessions on a Dance Floor” at C Lounge in Toronto.
The only way to get in to the event was by invite or by winning a contest on CHUM Radio. I want to extend a huge thank you to Loretta at CHUM Radio for sending me an invite to the event! It was a lot of fun!
Guests arrived around 7:30pm. Right before they let us in, a Hummer Limousine pulled up outside the club decorated in Confessions on a Dance Floor style! It was reps from Motorola and Warner arrivng. Very cool!
Once inside, they were playing various Madonna songs and served us FREE drinks and food. (I decided to stick with Chardonnay).
Just after 8pm, the doors were shut, and they began playing “Confessions on a Dance Floor”. Let me tell you, this CD is AMAZING when played in a proper club sound system! Even songs I previously thought I didn’t like sounded amazing and I have a new appreciation for them!
This is definitely an album to play loudly in a club with thumping bass! The dance floor quickly filled up and people danced to every song on the album! I don’t understand some people who don’t think it’s a dance album because it certainly got people grooving and grinding!
There was a very fun Madonna impersonator there dressed as Blond Ambition Madonna, and also Madonna’s rep from Warner was in attendance to give out prizes. Draws were held and prizes given away included 10 (ten) Motorola Rokr Phones, 2 (two) COADF shirts, and the coolest prize of all, a mechanical spinning Madonna Disco Ball!
Those that didn’t win still got gifts for attending. We all got a disco ball keychain, and a free copy of the “Confessions on a Dance Floor” CD. I even got one of the promo posters!
Overall, a very fun night! It was awesome to hear the album in that environment and even more awesome to see people’s reactions as they rushed to the dance floor!
Thank you to CHUM FM for letting me be part of this exciting evening!”
