In the latest issue of the Italian edition of Vanity Fair, which presents the exclusive Donatella Versace intereview, there is also an interesting article on the golden years of the East Village when Keith Haring, Andy Warhol and many others were hanging around.
The magazine publishes two portraits by photographer Roxanne Lowit, one of Robert Mappelthorpe and another of a young Madonna that you can see scanned on the right – click to enlarge.
