”42 Rotations”
The 7th International Darklight Festival 2006 includes short-films, animation, documentaries, feature films, workshops, experimental, innovative and artistically led works from all over the world plus public interviews & open debate with the international visiting artists.
Our friends Adrian & Shane are excited to announce that their first short film “42 Rotations“, is being premiered at the Festival, which launches tonight in Dublin.
Filmed at the G-A-Y event at the Astoria in London on November 19th 2005 using a Canon IXUS 50 digital camera, the “42 Rotations” footage was originally meant to take a photograph but the camera was on the wrong setting and recorded a (one second long) accidental film instead!
Adrian & Shane then used that second of video footage, repeating the same clip over and over 42 times. The color changes with each repetition. They also used the original sound, you don’t hear any music, just a loud violent noise.
This film was edited using iMovies and has also been shortlisted for an award in the ‘Newcomer’ category.
