A Full Scale Disco Party
With the kick-off of the Confessions Tour only a couple of days ahead
of us, the excitement grows to new heights, even though the shows I’m
attending aren’t due until August and September (Hannover, Paris and
Amsterdam). The days befor a tour start are always a good time for
watching DVDs of previous tours, so as I’m watching my re-Invention
DVDs over and over again, I can’t help but feel the exact same
excitement I felt in 2004.
As I didn’t manage to keep myself ‘spoiler-free’, of course I know
some stuff about the tour already. Never mind though, a Madonna show
is always a surprise, and no word or images can describe it the way it
actually looks and feels to be there in the venue. The moment the
houselights go down and the music starts, the whole arena is
captivated by the little spot on the stage where Madonna will emerge
for the first time and the thunderous roar when she first appears
always gives me goosebumps.
So what do I expect this year? I expect the Confessions Tour to even
top Re-Invention, even though in 2004 I never thought that would be
possible. I expect it to be a full scale disco party, and I have no
doubt in my mind that Madonna will be able to justify her mission
statement ‘to turn the world into one big dance floor‘. I expect to be
amazed, touched, provoked and above all to dance my ass of!
Madonna will once again rule the world in 2006 and she deserves it all!
