Alfred’s ”Confessions” in Phoenix
Thanks to M-Tribe Community member DrownedParadise for sharing his “Confessions Tour” experience in Phoenix with fello Tribers on our Tour Forum.
“I left for Phoenix on Wednesday. On Thursday I was nervous as hell. Afraid my costume would not turn heads and that I would not be able to enjoy the show in it.
I got to the arena around 7:30 and had to walk extremely far in heels. The line was super long to get into the arena. When I finally got in I ran to the merchandise. I got everything I wanted. I bought the poster, both 8×10’s, buttons, keychain, mug, yo-yo, wristband, blinkie, mirror, stickers, shirt, program, some of the bags, two different balloons one solid gold on that says Madonna Confessions Tour, and all the newspapers.
I also went to Virgin and got one of the shirts, the buttons, and La Isla Bonita from Japan. After I bought my merchandise I was just hanging around and Guy Oseary came up to us and asked if we were real fans. You know what I said. He offered to upgrade my tickets and was not able to give me anything better than the 6th row I had. I immediately asked if he would help my friend and he agreed as long as she had someone to join her. It did not work so he told me to come back on Saturday and he would hook me up. Before he left he asked to take a picture of and with me. I was flattered. He told me what a great job we had done on the costume. At that point I was extremely excited.
The show started at about 8:45 and as soon as the lights went down I went nuts. I met two fabulous Iconers that day one was the fabulous Franola and the other was MeghanErin. Fran was just two rows behind me and Meghen was right next to me on the catwalk. We all had a great view.
M was very interactive with the crowd and I cried my eyes out during “Live to Tell” not only because it is my all time favorite M song, but also because of the great meaning it had. I was flattered by all the people that asked to take pictures with me and I got to talk to Madiva for awhile as well. I was sweating like crazy the whole time, but I figured if M could do it so could I.
After the concert we went out with some friends and I had the chance to dance with Fran. On Friday I drove all the way back to Texas got a pair of tickets from my mother and drove my ass back to Phoenix to see our Queen Mother. I arrived at about 4:00, took a shower, and headed back to the arena. I got there fairly early, in hopes of seeing Guy. Sure enough he found me and asked what was going to happen. He told me to find an extra person and did so Mark, my friend, and I all got to sit right in front of the middle catwalk to experience the show in a whole different way. Luckily I got to keep my 48th row tickets and I gave them to a fellow fan who then gave theirs to another friend so all in all 12 of us got upgraded, it was fabulous to make others happy.
I got to expereience the show in a whole different way and M made lots of eye contact with us. We even got dissed by Madonna during “Hung Up“. She asked us to sing louder and rolled her eyes as I guess she was not satisfied. It was amazing. I also was on the screens screaming Times Goes By So Slowly.
Afterward I went out again and got to meet other fans and take a picture with Madiva. The trip was the best time of my life and I am tired as hell, but I would totally do it again.
