Arthur Trilogy!
Mia Farrow unveils Luc Besson’s “Arthur and the Minomys” talking to Sci Fi Wire and reveals plans to creat a Trilogy of movies from the French director’s children’s book stories.
“Mia Farrow told Sci Fi Wire that she’s completed work on the live-action/animated fantasy film “Arthur and the Minimoys“, the first in a proposed trilogy directed by Luc Besson.
“Actually, I’m going to Cannes with that this weekend,” Farrow said in an interview here while promoting her upcoming horror film, The Omen. In Minimoys, which is based on Besson’s children’s book, “I play Freddie Highmore’s grandma,” Farrow added. “We two are the live people in a heavily animated film. A lot of very famous people, Madonna and Snoop Dogg and others, are in that and voice the animation characters. I’ve not seen it, but I love little Freddie, and I love Luc Besson, and we’re hoping that there will be two sequels. That’s what Luc is planning.”
Asked to describe the plot, Farrow smiled and said, “Oh, you don’t want to go into that. It’s a grandmother and her son living alone, running out of money, and they have a world of tiny people underneath the house. … He’s written five books, Luc. My script was one of them, and he’s planning to do two more feature films with Freddie [Charlie and the Chocolate Factory] and [me].”
As M-Tribe readers remember, “Arthur and the Minimoys” will be released worldwide on Christmas 2006.
