”Band ? part” opening in London next week
“Bande ? part” is a photographic exhibition bringing a cross view of 11 photographers on the New York underground scene from the late 60’s to the mid 80’s, featuring those who originated the creative effervescence which shook the artistic, musical and literary scene during the two decades that separate Counter Culture from No-Wave.
Travelling from “Galerie du Jour” agn?s b. in Paris, “Bande ? part” is an exhibition that is both pop and punk, hippie and disco, punk rock and glam rock, an exhibition about excess, attitude, sex, drugs and rock n’ roll, and finally, mostly, it’s about New York City.
“Ban ? part” features 180 works by Roberta Bayley, Leee Black Childers, Danny Fields, Godlis, Bobby Grossman, Gerard Malanga, Billy Name, Anton Perch, Marcia Resnick and Maripol, who wil be showing some of her amazing polaroid images portraying the familiar faces of her longtime friends.
“Band ? part – New York Underground 60’s, 70’s, 80’s” runs from Tuesday March 28 to Sunday April 16, 2006 at The Painting Rooms in London.
