Come on BarcelONNA!
You may have spotted his name in the photo credit on the image currently used as the header of the Madonna Tribe Forum.
Nikolai from Barcelona took that amazing picture of Madonna and her dancers performing “La Isla Bonita” at the Palais d’Omnisport de Bercy on September 30. We have now added that shot and more great ones he sent in to be shared with our reader to our Tribe-A-Pose galleries. As today’s “Tour Memories” moment, here’s also what Nikolai recalls of his experience.
“After setting the tent under the rain and queing two days in front of the arena in Bercy, my friends from Barcelona and I arrived to the first row of people in front of the catwalk the third night.
It should be remarked that the organization of the queue was much better this time than in 2004 and there was no avalanche. We weared t-shirts with the neon-like letters of the “Confessions” CD changing Barcelona to “BarcelONNA“.
Before the show began, Guy, one of the managers of the tour, took a picture of us. This one picture I’m sending was taken by one of the cameramen in charge of the live images of the show.
During the concert Madonna smiled at us several times and when she listed all the countries people in Bercy were from in her speech she named “Scotland, Australia”… and “Barcelona!”
During the sing-along choirs with the audience at the end of “Hung Up”, she came to us straight from the middle of the catwalk shouting “Come on Barcelona!!!” and she placed the microphone in front of us letting us sing.
My most unforgettable moment of the night was when she looked into my eyes and she pointed to me with her finger while singing “I’ll be the garden, YOU’ll be the snake…”
“I also send to you another picture which I took in Rome on August 7th – the day after the Madonna concert at the Stadio Olimpico. Since the Pope didn’t want to come to see the show, I brought Madonna to him in the Vatican City“!
“I got to know my friends sleeping in the streets queing for tickets for the opening show of the Drowned World Tour in Barcelona back in 2001. Madonna truly makes the people come together!”
Kisses,
Nikolai from Barcelona.
