Emotional eruptions
You’ve seen the costume sketches, you know the songs, you even think you’re cognizant of the set list, but no one can fully comprehend the majestic magnitude of The Confessions Tour.
I for one am ready for the thrill. The anticipation is stifling. I plan to see Queen Madge in Philly on July 12. My friends and I are mapping out the scene and placing in our requests for vacation time as we set off to see the wonderful woman of rock. Five Hundred miles is only a short hike when compared to the treasure that lies across the way.
This is my second Mecca. My first involved a journey to Atlanta for the RIT tour. I burst into tears as I beheld her beauty for the first time. It is a night I shall never forget. Now, as I prepare for the second journey I can only anticipate the emotional eruptions that precede me.
The Confessions Tour will rock. It will be bold. Madonna will return to her role as seductress and S&M femme fatal, a character totally void in the RIT tour. She will push buttons, and manage to command obedience all at the same time.
My concert t-shirt is being made this week in honor of the royal one, a light pink tee adorned with a silhouette of a disco dancer lying prostrate on the floor. The words underlying the restless dancer reads, “Madonna Summer” in pink lettering. The back simply reads, “Just Watch Me Burn.” That we will do as Madonna once again burns up the summer of 2006.
