Have you confessed?
Here’s again our friend Dye Another Day reporting on his way back from opening night at the Forum in L.A.
After the Steven Klein opening video she descends on a crystal mirrorball ball and perfoms “Future Lovers” and bits of Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love“. The dancers are xtremely kinky! The “Confessions” show is the first time “Future Lovers” is performed live.
“Get Together” is a nice number with Madonna and just two dancers.
Then, “Like A Virgin“. Jacket off revealing a lace see-through top. Madonna does an outrageous pole dance on a merry go round. It is genius & very satisfying.
A huge cage lowers from the ceiling and the dancers fly everywhere thru the air. Gasp! “Jump“.
Scenes of torture are seen on the screens. Madonna literally rises out of the stage on a cross. She is wearing a prune see-through blouse and a thorn crown.
She looks… unreal is the only word.
“Live To Tell” is performed live for the first time in sixteen years. The audience was almost in shock. Most dramatic thing I’ve ever seen.
“Forbidden Love” was very sexy dance number. The dancers are incredible.
“Isaac” is very rocking
Another cage comes out – a very rousing “Sorry“.
Alone, Madonna sings “like It Or Not“. “This is who I am,” and the crowd really LOVES this woman.
After an odd “Sorry” video interlude, she returns in the glam jacket & does “I Love NY” and “ray Of Light” with her rol guitar.
The jacket comes off – there is no “I Love LA” tee. Just a leotard.
She sits down for a beatiful “Drowned World” and the first live “Paradise Not For Me” ever. Sheer elegance!
This is also the first show where “Forbidden Love”, “Isaac” and “Sorry” are performed live.
“Disco Inferno” is a big surprise! If u like Cloud, you will experience heart failure. Madonna appears in the white “Travolta” suit for “Music“.
Good lord does she work & make the crowd rock!
Since the Girlie Show skipped LA, “Erotica” next was the song’s first performance in town ever! So special.
Out comes an illuminated cape – the crowd goes BERSERK for Lucky Star.
The nite ends with a version of “Hung Up” straight out of the Grammies. Madonna basically looks the same as her Koko gig.
The “Confessions Tour” concert ends exactly the way “re-Invention” did. Exactly.
Instead of “Re-invent Yourself”, it says “Have u Confessed?”
A huge thank you to Steve for this report Live from Opening Night.
