Hawaiian Night @ Fresno Show June 6 2006
A huge thank you to Madonna Triber MaryBeth who flew from Hawaii to Fresno to see Madonna live in concert, for the great story and amazing pics she shared. Here we go.
“Tribers,
What an amazing night. So far beyond any expectations I had and believe me… I Had Expectations.
Would have written sooner but Just now settled back at Home in Hawaii.
Not only did I bring Myself in from Hawaii to see Miss M – I also brought two of My closest friends from Hawaii, My sister in-law and I flew in my sister as well from Oaklahoma.
Always an Inspiration, I did my first Portrait 13 years ago while going through drug rehab. The portrait was of Miss M. That’s how long I’ve waited to see her live.
I’ve always told myself I would not go to see her unless I could afford a seat in the front… amazingly I was able to make the dream come true for 4 other people as well. One of the tickets was a birthday surprise for my friend Genie and she about fell to the ground as I led her to her 6th row seat.
Honestly Madonna is so much more than just the Music… truly her inspiration has been abundant for me and her music has helped me ride out the last 23 years of this life and the many emotions that come with it.
I could go on and on with her many contributions in this word but the list is too large. In a nut shell She is Beautiful absolutely F*ckin cool and one H*ll of a truth-teller.
Her show was truly Magical for all of us…already Ive seen it to be a life changing experience in all of our lives (those who went with me). The energy in that stadium after she hit the stage was beyond belief. My sister has struggled many years on an emotional level, she even spent a number of years living on the streets. What she saw in Madonna that night truly changed her spirit, I saw it the next morning and in less than a week she is taking necessary steps in directing her life towards the positive. Wow!
After drawing that first portrait 13 years ago… I had hoped to not only see Miss M upclose and personal But to also give her a portrait made especially for her. Well, my piece made it into the Stadium but I was told that Madonna Absolutely would not accept anything from the Audience. Safety first aye… which is understandable.
I decided to give it a shot anyways.
Although my location was row 6 seat 4 I was blessed to end up right against the catwalk for the entire show. I know her every step is programmed but unbelievably she kept leing down right in front of me. It was unbelieveable.
No…she did not take the portrait physically but I know that my mission was accomplished.
When first seeing it her eyes widened and she looked back to see it a bit more… after that came that fabulous smile of hers.
What a treasure… not only her smile but also the smiles all around me. The smiles of my family and friends as well as the joy I saw in every person in the room that night.
I believe It is our experiences… what we feel when we come into contact with things that spark our heart and spirit that count…not what we posses physically.
Madonna experienced “Her Piece” that night so I know that it is with her. And for all that have seen her live, will see her on this tour or will see her in the future…Yeah for You because it is truly an experiece of a life time.
I’m so thankfull that I was able to share my gift with her that evening but most of all I am so thankful for the countless gifts she has shared with me over the years…
Thank you Madonna for Sparking my Heart and spirit once again. Madonna Live is an Experience I will never forget!
Much Love, Light & Aloha,
MaryBeth in Hawaii
