Kubulla’s memories from Prague
Thanks to Kubulla at madonnanews.net for sending his report about the “Confessions Tour” stop in the Czech Republic, Madonna visiting Prague and her two concerts at the Sazka Arena.
My last few days were full of Madonna:
On September 5 I was waiting in front of the hotel Madonna and her crew were going to stay in Prague – it was great atmosphere to wait on our idol with other fans.
At the beginning (2pm) in front of the hotel were waiting just about ten people, then about 4pm there were about sixty. First of all the bus with the team and vocalists Donna and Nicki finally arrived.
So we were impatiently waiting for Madonna‘s car.
About 5pm we heard the car horns and three cars passed the group of fans. The photographers from Czech tabloids came and told us that Madonna arrived into the hotel’s garages.
She was accommodated in the prime minister’s room, not in the president’s room, because this one is too close to the street.
On September 6 the show was really great, although some people were too shy for dancing and so I had bad feeling
that Madonna can see it 🙂
During her speech Madonna was very talkative:
“Hello, Prague! Sorry it took me so long to get here. Prague is beautiful place full of beautiful people. Are you having a good time? I just wanna make a comment that
I understand what the Czech Republic has been through, the fight for freedom and that’s all about. The freedom is
inside your head, okay? Don’t forget that.”
Then she couldn’t recognise the Norwegian flag, she thought it was Poland, so said: “Jesus, I keep getting that wrong”.
After that we repeated some lines after her like: “We want peace. We don’t want war. We are one! Fuck George Bush.
‘Cause he’s a whore.”
The last line people didn’t repeate
properly, so she said “Don’t fuck with me!”
So I really hope she enjoyed the whole show, she was looking
relaxed.
The next day, September 7, I heard she was leaving the hotel about 4pm (because she did it the day before), so I
went there and was waiting. 10 minutes before 4pm she really left the hotel and in five seconds her car was taking her
away for the rehearsal in the Sazka Arena.
It was great feeling see her not just during the concert but also live in front of the hotel!
So I decided to go to the Sazka Arena and at least hear the concert from the outside.
I met there my friend and after the beginning of the concert we and tens of other fans get into the Sazka Arena – but just into the Arena’s corridors. It was really funny to see the fans going still all around the Arena and we were listening behind the doors to the V.I.P. skyboxes.
After all of that me and my friend decided to go to back to the hotel, it was about three songs before the end of the concert. We hoped we could see Madonna’s car driving into the hotel’s garages. Because my friend
have a car, we were there really quickly.
Behind the hotel, where are the garages, were three photographers also waiting for Madonna. It was really strange, because no one else was there. They asked us if we
know when the concert ends, so we told them. And then they asked from which newspaper we are, so it made me laugh, they were there with those large and heavy cameras and me with the small compact digital camera. We were waiting about half
an hour but Madonna didn’t appear. Rumor says she left Prague right after the show. Don’t know if that is true.
