Latest exclusive news from Cardiff
And here’s the news we’ve been waiting for:
Two giant shiny “Disco Horses” will decorate the stage at Madonna’s
first ever concert in Cardiff.
The horses, which are adorned on flags either side of the stage in the
Millennium Stadium, have not been used in previous shows.
The show had been made bigger and better to suit the stadium’s massive space.
DJ Paul Oakenfold, who has remixed several of Madonna’s hits, is
supporting the star in the European leg of her tour and said it was a huge privilege.
“It’s the first time she has had any support artist on tour with her since the Beastie Boys in the 80s so this is a real honour for me” he
said.
“I played Cardiff with U2 back in 1994 and that was at Cardiff Arm Park, before the new stadium was built so I really can?t wait because it is such a fantastic stadium. The whole experience is going to be really special for everyone.”
He described Madonna as a perfectionist and said she had altered a lot since he first worked with her more than 20 years ago.
“She’s gone from being Desperately Seeking Susan to being a wife and mother so she?s gone through quite a change,” he said.
“I don’t think she’ll ever stop performing. I think she really enjoys doing it“.
