Lucky Boy in Chicago
I’m always late with these things” – M-Tribe visitor Lance writes – “but at least I get it there sooner or later.”
“This was my first trip to Chicago and all I can is…..WOW! The people, the food, everything was incredible. I absolutely love it there.
I went to all four concerts in Chicago, plus the two in Las Vegas and now my credit card is officially CLOSED!! I had quite the adventure in Chicago, so I’ll highlight the good stuff.
We already know what an incredible concert this is. She keeps getting better and better and noone can argue that. I love the entire show from start to finish… especially the opening with “Future Lovers/ I Feel Love”. Everytime I see it, it takes my breath away. To say that I’m a little jealous of the people in NY who will be seeing her VERY soon is a major understatement. You are in for the ride of your life and I hope you enjoy every second of it. It’s something that you will never forget. Also, it seems that alot of “tribers” like to say that their concert and their audience was the best… sort of like “my mom can beat up your mom” mentality. Well let me say this, she didn’t name a song after anyone else, so when I Love NY starts playing, tear the roof off that fu****!
I was lucky enough to meet five people in Madonna’s entourage and I think that’s pretty good. Everyone is so incredibly nice, with no attitude at all. I had met Cloud and Tamara in Las Vegas and they remembered me. I had my tour book with me and they were happy to sign it for me. I was the only one hanging around her hotel so it was a completely different atmosphere from Montreal. I saw Stuart come out the front door and I almost peed on myself. Let me tell you something, he is honestly one of the nicest people I have ever met. We talked for quite awhile and he was asking me questions about the show. I asked him to sign my tourbook and he wrote “To Lance….LOVE YOU!!” then put big hearts all over the place. Awesome man. I told him bye and he said “I’m sure we’ll meet again.” I guess I should say I met six people because I did see and speak to Guy Oseary, but no pics.
Donna De Lory is an angel. She did a signing at Borderline Music and if you ever have the chance to go and see her, DO IT. Her smile is amazing and goes perfectly with her personality.
I met everyone on a Monday and that night I went to the concert. I was in section 1, row 12, seat 1 and when I went to my seat, it was not there. The “usher lady” whom I had talked to on the previous nights told me that I had been relocated. She handed me a stack of tickets and said “Since you’ve been here everynight, why don’t you pick your on seat”. Let’s just say I went for section 1 row 4 seat 10… quite an upgrade.
The show started and right off the bat I started screaming for Monte. He looked over and gave me a thumbs up and was laughing. We kept making eye contact through the whole show. He is one talented man! I had made a sign saying “Madonna 4 President” and when she walked out on the “Like A Virgin” catwalk during “Lucky Star” she saw it and pointed and smiled. During “Hung Up”, Cloud, Tamara, and Donna all recognized me from before and they were smiling and pointing. I stand out pretty good, I’m 6’5 and I have black spikey hair. I blew Donna a kiss and she smiled and shook her head yes, acknowledging it. I don’t expect to be sitting down with Madonna anytime soon for a “spot of tea”, but it is a great feeling when you make some kind of contact with anyone on stage.
Once I got back to my hotel, I could not sleep. Everything kept playing over in my mind and I can’t tell you how many times I clicked on my camera to look at my pics or opened my tour book to look at my signatures and I felt an amazing sense of accomplishment.
I travelled by myself and I was able to do everything that I wanted to do. If you set your mind to it, you can do it. I’m not special by any means. I have no connections or anyone to help me. If I can do it, you can do it.
I hope that everyone out there that is holding a ticket to see her in the near future has an absolutely incredible time… I know you will. If you’ve already been, sit back and relive the excitement through your fellow tribers.
Also, for the fans out there who will not be seeing this tour for whatever reason… hang in there… your time is coming. This will not be M’s last tour and I have no doubts that we will all be going through this excitement again in the near future.
Love and Light to all Tribers,
Lance
